Ski does not have the power

Hello all,

I have a new challenge. A friend got some bigger rocks in the pump. one was stuck between the blades and was spinning around. now the wearing has deep marks in it and also the blades from the impella. the engine runs fine. i took it out but it does not has the power as before. with 8000 rpm i just got to 50mph.
my question is. could the damage at the wearing and impella the reason for that? dont want to replace all that and then find out it is something else wrong.

If there's too much clearance between the blades and the ring, then yes, it would start to cavitate. You'll probably need to replace the wear ring atleast and you'll want to check the prop too. If nothing else, take the pump off and take some pics and post em up and we can tell you for sure.

is it very difficult to do?

is it very difficult to change the wearing? anything special to look for when doing it?
