My bimini top just arrived and the directions to install on the boat are pretty universal.I would like it to tuck behind the seats(05 sportster) when not in use.Sound feasable? I hate to put the drill to a new(to me) boat unless I'm 100% sure its in the right place:) I'd like to see at least where the factory mounts are:cheers:
thanks

Mine's a bimini top... it's a 96 speedster, and it doesn't even move at 55+mph! Enjoy your new boat!

Here's a couple more pics of the top extended. Hope that helps. :)

Lee I had one custom made custom to fit my speedster. It was tripled stitched and less of a brim around the outside to keep it from parachuting at speed...uh 55+ I also had it made narrower to look sporting for the speedster.
The dealers here get like $699.00usd. My canvas guy had done all my boat covers and repairs...so it was less than $400.00 and he installed it for a beer...later. Told me if it rips off or tears...it's free for a replacement...I'll post pictures when I get some. He also matched the boat color perfect.

I researched like 15 companies. This is the next choice for me to order one if I didn't get one custom made for my speedster.

Robin,That address takes you to iboats.com,That is the top I purchased. After doing some measuring on my boat I've decided not to use it.The bows go up the sides 90 deg. with the top, thats fine when the top is up,but when you lay it back it sticks out the side of the boat 10 - 12 in.:ack:
preventing you from putting the cover on.(on a late model sportster anyway)Thats why I wanted to see other tops to see if they have curved bows to fit the lines of the boat.Apparently the stock ones do,and I found a site in Canada that sells an oem top that will fit better!
Here is the US supplier that sells the same one:
www.jmcamper.com/seadoo_bimini $375
If curved bows don't matter to your boat, have I got a deal for you:)

Lee, thanks for the input on the Bimini. I called the company before I was about to order one last month, and asked them if it stuck out past the natural lines of the boat, and they told me "NO" it fits real tidy inside the curvature of the boat...I hate companies that lie!~just to make a sale. They told me that they are the closest thing to a "factory Bimini". I'll strike them off my referral list. I kinda thought the price was too good to be true.

Very good points Lee and karl. I am not sure but my boat is wider at the back than any where else so that top you bought from iboats may work on my boat. Dont the newer boats like yours have a narrow rear end? I am not sure about any of this so I will have to dig deep on this before I buy, but not quite as deep sence I have the info you 2 have given me. what color is the bimini top you purchased from iboats?

color

jet black,Robin.Actually, You could pick one up down there alot cheaper than what I have in this one.Looking at Divemodes boat which is a 96,my top is very similar, except there are no support bars at the back, just straps on iboats.Support bars are extra!Another thing to check for in a low-cost bimini is Does it come with a zip up boot. Also an option with iboats:(
So you thought this was going to be easy eh?

That's one of the reasons I got a local Canvas company to make mine... it fits like a glove, with a boot too. I didn't want the support legs as I have to drop it to fit under a bridge getting to the ICW. We checked the fit after he bent the main bar to get my approval of it's location at the layed down position, and over all height and fit. Check or a local guy that will offer that same service.

gerapau,That cover at boat cover direct(made by Carver) is the same as I have.I paid $346+ $101 shipping.
Google" Axess Marine" for the oem top.Their out of Quebec.
