I'm going to start to look for a newer ski. I want a 4 stroke and I Like the 2003-2005 model year GTX 4-tec. I would prefer to stay with the naturally aspirated version, as I really don't want to deal with the maintenance problems of the supercharger.

I really like the 2003-2005 years. What kind of things should I be looking at as possible problem areas on these skis? For those of you who own or have owned one of these units, sharing your experience would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

So, I've been doing some reading since posting this. From what I gather, the sodium filled valves are the biggest issue on the NA 155 models. Anything else?

For the NA models in those years that's about it as far as BRP induced issues. There's a whole other set of owner-induced issues however - maintenance being the
key one. Salt water ridden being another.

Thanks for your reply lama. Being used in salt water regularly would be a deal breaker for me. I wouldn't even consider buying one that had been run regularly in salt. The valve issue is big enough that I might go another direction (whisper...yamaha) For what I want to spend, I'm not going to get a Doo new enough that it would have the updated valves. And if I have to dump another grand into it to correct the valve issue, what's the point? Also, I hear nothing but good about the Yami FXs.
