Hey,
New to the forum here. I have two RXP 215's that I am trying to winterize correctly. One is an 05' and one an 06' and they have been a big improvement over the previous Yami's that we owned. I am trying to find a shop manual so I can work on (i.e. winterize and service) them myself. The dealership here on the Cape has been atrocious to deal with ($1100 for last winter's service and it took 4 weeks for the spring service to be completed) and it is only because of that that I am wanting to do my own repairs. I have found CD versions, but want an actual manual. I called Sea-Doo directly and found they only give tech support to dealers. Go figure, Kenworth and Peterbilt will both help me directly when I am having a problem with a truck, but sea-doo can't. The dealership quoted me $130 plus dollars for the manual. So in the face of dealing with an archaic tech support policy, I am figuring that there is a company that sells printed manuals in the aftermarket. Any help would be huge.

$1100 bucks........

Man, that's hard to believe they charge $1100 bucks for winterizing a 4-TEC when it has a closed loop cooling system. Not like you have to protect an engine that is already protected from freezing!.........

The procedure for winterizing your open loop system is simple. It's actually quoted as a sticky in the PWC "how to" section. Here, follow this link........

If you want a manual, you can purchase a months membership, download and print the manual yourself for about $10 bucks......Our manuals after about 2004 or 5 are limited to the engines and pumps, so the 155 thru the 255 hp 4-TEC engines are all included in one manual. The manual doesn't cover the hull's. I downloaded the 2005 version of the 4-TEC and bought some nice paper (thick, tough cut) that would stand the test of time in my workshop and printed it, both front and back, just like a manual and put it in a binder. It's over a year old now and outside some grease stains on a few pages, it's still in great shape.........

Thanks for the reply. It seems outlandish and there may have been some troubleshooting for a bad sensor (that they couldn't actually fix), but no other work. I called earlier last week and they quoted me 380 and change per unit, so I have decided to add another piece to an already long list of items I service myself. I do a lot of wrenching on my company trucks, the skis I just like to get on and ride (and flush with fresh water after ocean rides, the only place to ride i might add!), which is the reason for using the dealer for servicing in the past. Thanks again!!
