sealing wear ring and pump on 93 XP
I'm changing the wear ring and have the following questions:
1) The shop manual says to smear gasket maker on the O ring I've seen a utube on changing the pump oil.They said to oil the O ring and tap in place. Is there a preferred method ?
2)Where the pump seals at the hull:
Do I grease the seal and wear ring or silicone that surface on on the back of the boat and the wear ring. This wear ring has the lip and should mate to the seal on the hull. I'm just concerned about any place water may leak into the boat.Is it OK to silicone wear ring to the seal at the back of the boat or is that bad ?
