Hi!

Just managed to get myself a new owner of a 1996 Seadoo XP. It was left alone about 5 years ago, with some electrical problems. Now i managed to get this thing to life. We knew there was a problem with starter, before it was left unused. So i changed starter solenoid, starter was repaired because brushes where bad and cut, changed all the battery cables for new ones, checked all the connections where right connected and waterproof.

The problem what now is, is that when I connect the battery cable, the starter goes right on, doesnt matter if i put the key in, wait for beep and push start button. Starter right on when battery cable ise connected. Start button is checked - no problem there, starter is repaired, starter solenoid is knew.

No idea what to do next. Any ideas? May it be a problem with some module in front control box?

Best regards,

K.R

It could only be a bad solenoid unless you got some wires reversed and it is sending power immediately to close the solenoid.
The big red wire goes from the battery to the solenoid. The small red wire goes directly to this same post as the big red wire to the battery as that supplies power to the MPEM. The only other big red wire goes from the other solenoid post to the starter.
So only way it can crank immediately is a closed solenoid.
