Hi guys. This is my first post and I'm puzzled. I had local dealer install a pull throttle cable instead of thumb cable. Since then I lost 400 RPM and when I pull the throttle all they way it drops to 6250 rpm.

I'm not sure what happened. Any thoughts?

If the throttle cable is not adjusted correctly, it may fail to open the carbs all the way thus losing a bit of RPMs. These cables have an adjustment screw near the carbs but honestly, I do not know how your RX looks like.

I assume you have a carbed engine,, If so, make sure the butterfly is not opening all the way and then past fully open and start to close past the full throttle point.

When you press the throttle it open a butterfly in the carb. The butterfly rotates as it open. It should stop with the butterfly being perfectly straight up and down. If the butterfly passes the perfectly straight up and down point and rotates a bit more, it actually starts to close the throttle..

So,, look at the throttle plate and see if it passes the perfectly straight stopping point..
