Hi there, New here. I have a Seadoo 787 GTX 1997 model that has a bad motor. I' ve split the motor and have all the new replacement parts except for the counter balance Shaft external seal. The Old bearing seal was a metal disk with an O ring and then a large c snap Ring to keep it in place. This has broken and the replacement part just seems to be a black plastic disk with no snap ring. My question is can I assemble the crank and install this bearing cover later on as I suspect you could have done with the old part or do I need to install the new replacement oem part while I join the 2 halves of the crank. Hope this makes sense and thanks for helping.
