I have a 98 GTI, starts perfect out of water and idles great. But once in the water it will start up run great but when you slow to a idle it will idle for like 5 secs and then die. and will only start back by giving full throttle to start and crank for like 6-10 seconds. once started runs great for over an hour straight but when you slow to idle it will die. i have no tach so dont know where its idling at. Other then that runs great. Any ideas?

Does it ever idle fine in the water? Or do you have to keep your finger on the throttle to keep it running?

It could be your idle screw is just set to low.

No never idles right in the water.. will try the idle screw, what about having to give it full throttle to start it after its warm??? any ideas.
