I have a 2009 seadoo challenger 180 SE with the supercharger. I've seen the YouTube how to for winterizing, but I also just downloaded the shop manual, which has a different procedure...

The YouTube video uses a sump pump to flush the exhaust port.... and the shop manual calls for removing hoses and such.

I'm curious if the procedures are interchangeable? Knowing this boat is nearly 10 years old worries me when it comes to removing any potentially delicate hoses....

...but I also don't want to worry about any cracked components after a cold New England winter.

I have noticed the same thing about my Utopia. I think it comes down to speed. A shop may want to pump the antifreeze in in order to save time. I think you will use up a lot more antifreeze if you pump in through the exhaust. The service manual allows you to be more precise and put it in where you need it (ex. intercooler/exhaust manifold).

I have no problem spending a little more on antifreeze if that method sufficiently works on flushing the inter cooler. It'd sure as heck be a lot easier!
