Hi! I just replaced the fuel lines on my 99 gts. I believe they are hooked up correctly. But now it won't start. Before changing the lines it was sputtering and very hard starting. Please help!!!

If It has not been done, you need to pull the carbs and rebuild with OEM kits. Use your original springs, check pop off. Replace fuel selector with OEM. Also check function of vent check valve and pressure relief valve. How old are your plugs?

Plugs are new and getting spark. I tried checking out the carbs but that's another story. My question is....why was I'd starting before the new lines and not now? Does it have to be primed?

Pull choke all the way out and try. Shoot some mixed gas in the air box and try also. Make sure all your lines are tight and you have them in the right place. The in and out connections on carb are casted into the nipples for lines. Disturbing the lines may of sent crude to the carb. They have a tiny little thimble shaped internal filter. It may be clogged. Down load the free repair manual for your ski. It will explain the procedure to get to the little filter element. Ask questions if your go that route. Can be tricky!

I changed the carb lines a few months ago so those are fine. it starts when I pour gas into the carb. hoses are tight. on the fuel selector it says "on" and "res" I cant see what the other nipple says. anyone know? forgive me, I'm not mechanically incline!!!

It should not take more than two 6 second tries with the starter to get it primed if the fuel delivery system is right. Double check you have all lines connected to the proper nipples. If all correct, I would pressure test the delivery system to make sure there is no leak anywhere. Common components that cause air leaks are the fuel selector. They start leaking air and the o-ring on the factory water separator/filter.

The one that points towards the filter. The one that points away goes to the carb inlet.

When I replaced my lines I made one loop in each line and routed them below the carbs so they would always have fuel in the lines.

Put a loop in both lines and make sure the lines are below the carbs. It keeps fuel in the lines that way for an easier start.

Ok. I poured a litter mixed gas in the carb. It started right up. Then it stalled. But it started 3 times after that. Now it's not starting!!! Ahhh

Glass the selector valve for now. They fail often. Let's eliminate and see what happens.

What do you mean by glass? I had just had it running. I stop it and it started back up. When it stalls it won't restart. Hmmm

The lines after the Y are usually clear. Check there for air bubbles.

Only if you have added clear aftermarket hose.

If you used standard automotive fuel line like most of us do none of it will be clear.

Gotcha. Mine came with all black lines up to the Y, clear between there and the carb.. thought that was standard, excluding the crappy Tempo time frame..
