SEADOO 717 720 RUNNING WITHOUT AIR BOX

Having to give 717 GTI with dual carb setup a bit of throttle to start cold. Feels sluggish until it hits 1/2 throttle. Have not been running the air box to make low speed adjustments, although have been running with the spark arrestor. How much will running without the air box effect the throttle response on low end?

You can’t run without the air box or it will be really lean and hesitate and could damage the engine.
