I have a starlight blue 2006 gtx that is giving me issues when trying to buff the grey deck. The hull polishes out with ease and looks new but the deck turns the pad black and won't bring the shine back. Im using a 3m super duty cut and meguiars 205 polish on both the deck and hull and have even tried wet sanding with 2000. Any help would be greatly appreciated

My guess is the grey is heavily oxidized and rubbing it is removing the oxidation but it's very deep.

Might have to cut through by wetsanding but in my case I don't like removing gel coat unless absolutely necessary, (usually for some kind of repair) I'd rather look at the oxidized surface.

Alternatively, perhaps some "Chemical Guys Clear Seal Detailer, Gloss Enhancer " or I'd probably even consider clear hoof polish if some was available.

The transom of our 26" 4WINNS boat has set in the same slip since new (I'm the 3rd owner) with the morning sun plus reflection on the water has destroyed the clear coat and oxidized the "Kelly Green" surface to a horrible, chalky white outer appearance. Even after wetsanding it looked like hammered hell. Rest of the boat, under cover has excellent look, shine. Since I gave up on anything but total refinish I tried this;

Wipe New Trim Restore

everyone who has any idea what it looked like originally is in awe of the result. Has to be reapplied every second year.
