Can you turn the engine from PTO side using a strap wrench with plugs removed ?

Yeah I can. My starter is shit. I wiggled the positive cable and it started to make a grinding sound instead of just clicking so I’m replacing stater Thursday or Friday.

Just had the exact same problem and it turned out to be a bad negative cable to the starter. The connector on the end was completely corroded and fell off

I had that happen before too, right around when I first got the ski.
