I have never used them. I was lucky enough to find what was most possibly the LAST New Old Stock motor off ebay for about the same price as SBT.

But their reputation is pretty good if you read this forum a lot.

Good Engines

I bought a rebuilt 657 from them last fall and I have had no problem.. Just be sure to run the oil mixture per there directions for break in...

I got a 787 from them with the 2 year warranty.

This engine cost me like $2000 though because the casings on my old 787 were all messed up so I was assessed a like $800 fee for them to weld it back up.

Right now I am on about 20-25 hours or so and am just having a blasty.

Although I still wish I had an 18" boat with some more hp

Ya I hear that , I think I'll fix this boat then sell it next year , I'm going to a 18 foot Challenger.(Bigger family)
I've read horror stories on SBT site about a guy on his 3rd engine (787)from SBT and he keeps blowing them, Sbt told him 1st couple times was improper break in and then on his third they told him 4 corner siezure, WOW!!! Thats just scary. And this all happened with in the first few minutes of the break in period. He obviously has some bad issues going on there. But he claims he had went through "everything" outside of the motor issue like fuel sys, coolant circulation, electronics blah blah blah. And he claims he followed the procedures to the book and still had this problem But, it was the mag side cylinder always failing .Pitted piston dome and head-detonation/lean condition Right?
Poor guy , my heart goes out to him , man that just sucks.
Now I also read a post on some racers/mechanics that had done research on this type of thing and by experiance that the mag side had to be set a little richer than the pto side , but I have read they have to be sync by others.
Anybody else hear or read about this?????? Hmmmmm?

Well I am on like 20-25 hours of my SBT at least. Probably more even. Been taking it out every weekend I can.

Engine runs good, and its not really given me much of any problem. It did overheat and shut off a couple times during break in. The mechanic who has worked on this works on Seadoos a lot. Owns a few of them himself. So I know the mech. did a good install (hopefully).

I see myself growing out of this boat relatively quick too. I just like to hop around on waves, tubing, etc. But at the same time I want room to lay out if I stop, etc.

Hey Factory81 , I'm up here in Muskegon , Who's your mechanic? I need to get some one to put a motor in mine if he does do that. Are you talkin about Sands over in Spring lake?
