Have a new sbt 717 with a new mikuni carb and set them to low-1 high-0 turns out. Sbt ended up sending me a refurbished dual carb block which i had found out it was because the pulse line is on the right side instead of left side. Dont know if that or anything else makes a difference other than that since i installed a my new mikuni single carb. But it rev’d to 5k and wouldnt go over at all. Checked the linkage and it had new plugs from after breaking in the motor. Also i noticed its responsive to quick throttle openings up to the 5k rpm but slowly opening the throttle it will almost reach 4k and start dropping rpm and die if i dont let off which i found odd. Let me know of any ideas!

Don’t know what machine you have but 1 turn out is not a lot. Try 1 1/4 turns out or 1 1/2
01 Challenger 15’ twin 717. Ive experimented with it and havent noticed a difference
