Gday all.... Jacko here from Australia. Just new to the forum fellas/gal's. I recently accuired a 1995 seadoo xp in great condition. It's got a reconditioned engine new exhaust sports system. Hull and top shell in excellent condition but has the usual gremlins... Vts rusted out completely... No gauges work... Jet pump full rebuild including impeller and all seals... Vts rebuild including new motor and trim fix module to control... Fixed gauges with new ones from eBay... and any seals I can think of. Can anyone clarify what type of safety switch xp I need to replace on my 1995 xp seadoo as the old one has snapped off and can't fix... Ordered a new one from the net witch is a 3 wire post but my current post is only 2 wire. According to the site it's a 3 wire post and the part numbers match.....soooo...can anyone clarify which one I need. Also my power wire from my mpem to the guagea only supplies 4.5 volts to the gauges hence why they won't fire up. They need 12 volts. I heve bypassed the mpem and give the gauges power directly from the solenoid as it's 12 volts and I can attach it via a eyelet... Easy and they all fired up... All good... Question 2.....is it because my original saftey switxh is a 2 wire not a 3 wire and there is a white wire from the mpem that is capped off that I'm not getting the full 12 volts to the guages...????? And the new one is 3 wire and has a white Wire to connect...??? All help Would be appreciated...nearly there as body is next with minor repairs to the fell cot topside and boot on hull.... All the best fellas and lo g live the 2 stoke beasts we restore and Kane the 4 stokes with.. Ha ha....
Cheers..
Jacko.....fro. Oz.

It has a Factory pipe. Not OEM but an aftermarket company called FPP (Factory Pipe Products). It should be a great running ski.

The 3 wire switch is probably a DESS post and your ski does not use the DESS system. The 2-wire switch your looking for is spring loaded and utilizes a smaller key.

Hey Matt...
Great to meet you. Mate...
Thanks for the info.... Lol
Just spent $170 AUS dollars for a post that Won't work...ha ha ha
The minister for finance and war will be rapt with that... Any how so all I need is a standard postblike the push button ones and I'm good.
Funny though that the site I bought the new post from said suits all models from 1994 to 1996 xp seadoo....wrong info.
Anyhow I will order a new post form ebay just the standard 2 wire posts and I should be good.
Thanks Matt for your info.
Cheers.
Beer o'clock now for me....

I would try to find or make a brace for the carbs. It should go from the carbs up to the two bolt holes on the head shell. Without one you risk cracking the intake manifold.

Wow.... Never would have thought about that.... Thanks Mikidymac. I will certainly try to rig up something as a brace from marine grade stainless.... Shouldn't be too hard......
That's what they said about Apollo 13.....lol
