RXT-X MIRROR REPLACEMENT

evening forum, i have a 2010 RXT-X, mirror wont stay in place when adjusted, i bought a replacement used mirror, i can't figure out how to get the top plastic cover off so i can replace it, i dont want to break anything, to costly to replace, i've looked at the new part in the catalogues, but it doesnt show anything, the mirror lower housing is molded to the hood,, anyone know how to get this thing off? thanks

It’s explained in the shop manual and if I remember right there are tabs along the top of the mirror that need to be released with a trim removal tool.
