Hello, I am new to this forum. I tried to search for my problem but did not find anything that appeared to address my issue.
Ran into my first problem with my 2006 RXP.
Let me back up to last year. From time to time the ski would not start with the key in place. I would have to remove the key then retry. This would always work on the second attempt. This year I was about to apply some heavy throttle and the Seadoo turned itself off. This was followed up but my instrument cluster flashing on and off like I was removing and installing the key. The beeps started going off all wacky. I removed the key but it still kept beeping and screaming at me. No codes to speak of just a bunch of random noise and the led would turn on and off along with the beeps. I should add that it no longer registered there was a key on or off the dess post. This was a serious problem as I had a guest on the back and we were stranded in the middle of nowhere. I ended up removing the front bucket and unplugging the dess connection to get Seadoo to shut the hell up. Once it stopped making noise I waited a few minutes then tried putting the key back on the dess post. It worked. We were back in business. The ski ran fine nearly the entire return trip to the dock. But about 30 min into our return it shut off again this time when I tried to start it back up there was a small exhaust pop. I am in the process ordering and installing a new dess post but I wanted to ask if anyone has any other thoughts.
