I restore the old 2-strokes and I don't install a lot of new parts. I use an ultra-sonic cleaner to rebuild the carbs and replace everything with the correct stuff. I think I do a descent job of getting everything right. The DI has power everywhere, no lull, idle, top speed and any point inbetween. Fuel burn is lower on the DI as well. Sweet running ski. No choke, no runaways, no hesitation, easy to start.... what's not to like?

I recently bought a DI that sat for 2 years outside. and when I got it home I installed a new battery and it fired right up. I'm not saying it would have been spot on when riding, the compression was 110psi, but I don't think a carb ski would have started right up. I have to romance all the carbs skis after sitting over the winter.

Lots of people don't like DIs. I think the DI shows what a well tuned 951 can do. I think they are ferocious and bad azz !!
