rx di 2000 lanyard issues

Guys have you any ideas
ive just been trying to wear out the kids on my ski today and have developed a gremlin with my rx .On initial start up you put the lanyard key in and get 2 beeps to say everythings ok engine starts up no problem then when you take out the key the engine stills runs and can only be stopped with the start stop button.then you go to put lanyard back in and no beeps are heard but you can still start the engine without lanyard which can potentially be dangerous.after some time of not running the ski it will then need lanyard for starting again .
im guessing the post may be faulty and have inspected for any visual defects
can anyone guide me into any further checks

inspect the connections to the MPEM, the main brain
these are the big connectors, pull and look for corrosion
if all looks good, then the dess post would be first suspect

done a resistance test on the post and im getting intermitent resistance.
sounds like ill be getting new post switch and go from there
