I've been struggling with a sluggish take off and lack of top end on my boat for a while. The previous owner of this boat frequently had the boat in salt water. I've noticed the shaft is rusted. Also, I've noticed a few dings on the trailing edges of my impeller. I need to order a wear ring, impeller and a shaft. Can y'all suggest any other parts/special tools that I may need to replace the mentioned items?

Sorry for the poor quality. I couldn't get my camera all the way in the water intake area.

You need a jig saw or reciprocating Saw (Zaw Saw) to cut the wear ring out. You will need an impeller tool also. The rest is just normal hand tools. Go for OEM on the wear ring, used on the shaft like Ebay or a forum user selling it. The impeller you have choices for a OEM reman is only like $60 from SBT all other compaies cost about $200-$250 for a new aftermarket unit.

You can get a neoprean seal that is resuable for like $5 for the pump to boat. For the pump if the bearing and seals are bad you usually need to get them pressed in and out at a machine shop or a dealer. Usually they go a long time if the oil was serviced in them and if you had no leaks. The impller to driveshaft seal you will get a new one with an aftermarket impller. If you go the reman way you will need to buy on if its bad. Since you have it all apart I would just put in a new carbon seal and boot if you don't know when it was reaplaced since those do wear out. Get an OEM carbon seal they last longer than the cheaper aftermarket ones..
