I have a 2004 GTI with Mikuni BN-40I-38 that I recently rebuilt, due to bogging. It run's great now, but lean. I'm assuming that based off of the grey spark plugs and difficulty starting after it's been run for a while. This carb does not appear to have high and low screws, let me know if I'm wrong, but the areas where they are on some models, appear to be blocked off on this one.
What steps can I take to richen it up?

Well I can honestly say I had the exact same issue on my 2003 GTI. I have been rebuilding these for 25 years and that’s the only one I couldn’t fix.

Those are tamper resistant plugs and confirms you have a California model ski. The adjustment screws are under those caps but they are different than any other mikuni and nothing else would match.

Do yourself a favor and what I finally had to do and contact OSD Seadoo. The fix is to replace the entire carb with a brand new one that is standard and not the one with the tamper proof screws.

After two years of fighting with the carb once the new one was installed the ski has never run so good. Now it’s old reliable and never gives us any issues. We also run it from sea level to 7,000’ without a hiccup.
