rubber wear ring break in

hey guys, i just got a new to me jet pump after mine was destroyed. It came with a rubber wear ring that appears to be new, however it is very tight and the starter is having trouble spinning the drive shaft to start it because of this, any body have any tips?

resolved, got a tip saying to use a removal tool and a drill to get into the wear ring a little bit so it could spin free

A little lube like WD40 or silicone spray and start the ski, it will shave the wear ring to clearance.
