Rub rail popped out of position

2021 GTI SE 170......I've read you can heat up and work back into position but that didn't work....Any suggestions?

Happened to a friends RXP-X turned out the glue that is used to bond the top and bottom of the hull had oozed out too much in one area and would not let the underside of the rub rail clip in properly trimmed some glue, warmed up the rub rail with a heat gun and it's all good now.
