Plan on putting the new motor in the XP this weekend so need to figure out what hose to use for the R/V line. The rest of the lines have been replaced with blue silicone hoses, but i think i might like to keep this hose clear for ease of visual inspection. Anyone have any experience using anything like this?

Can it handle the heat in the engine bay is my main concern.
I have 1/2 blue reinforced silicone i can use just in case.
Too late to order anything to get here by the weekend.

Well i would like to get something that i could physically pick up and not have to ship. lol

Looking at the MCmaster link , the hoses he uses look very similar and have similar temperature ranges to the home depot stuff!

It's not the temp range, it's the resistance to oils/chemicals. Honestly I didn't look at the McMaster page, it wanted to download on my phone. What's wrong with the original stuff? The home depot stuff if for like home pond and stuff, water transfer and it probably even says not for drinking water on the label. Actually, I have it at work right now. It was soft and supple when I bought it 5 months ago, I could drive nails with it now. We're using it to transfer a widget, not fluid. It might be fine, if you've got a hot nut to get it back together try it. If you have to redo it it's only time and a head pipe gasket to fix it.

How long does it take to get stuff from Hot-lanta? There is a McMaster branch there.

Yes, McMaster has a place in Atlanta (Hot-lanta) so is that a one day ups ground delivery? If you have to take the line off the exit side of the rv you need to remove the exhaust. To do that you need to undo the head pipe to mani, thus ruining the gasket. I had to do it when I knicked the hose with a hose clamp and had to pull the exhaust on my 96. I'm only trying to save you some headaches. Now I'll razz you, why didn't you order the line when the engine was out......months ago. LOL

Nxt day air amazon or eBay factory hose or go to bombardier dealer. Heck any brand jet ski dealer and get oil line.

I run white braided clear PVC oil line on all my valvecover oil breather to header Venturi drag car applications.

Im actually in Houston.
And what do you mean about redoing it would take a head pipe gasket?

there are rotary valve oil line fittings on both sides of the motor, one of them requires pulling the exhaust to get to.

as others have said the original lines are tygon, which you might be able to find large enough through one of the local hardware stores. fwiw, my orders from mcmaster-carr come in 2 days from atlanta via ground shipping, so it won't take long to get if you order from them.

True, the motor will be going in tomorrow regardless. I might just order the hose from McMaster and install it next weekend before hooking up the exhaust.
