Rochester NY area

[Dugout]

Anyone here in the Rochester area? Interested in setting up rides in the spring?

Just east of you, exit 40 on the thruway. We ride the Seneca River/Canal System quite a bit, normally launch in Weedsport or Jordan area(Cross Lake). This is not a spring time event, have to wait until the water recedes and there has been enough big boat traffic to clear the debris from spring run-offs. The Thruway Authority is in charge of the canal system now and does a terrible job in this area. You also have Owasco Lake and Skaneateles Lake near bye, lots of water cops!

I would vote for Skaneateles, but the launch access to it is difficult. The Seneca River has too much debris floating in it with the potential to ruin your day on the water.

Speedster is right, you really have to be alert on the river, but it's really a fun ride. Skaneateles is a great lake surrounded by big buck homes, launch is off Rt. 41A south of the village. It's a spring fed deep lake that stays pretty cold, great trout fishing. Owasco is a small lake that gets a little crowded some times, launch is seperate from the boat launch, reserved for PWC and canoes.

The wife & ! ride on Lake Ontario and Sodus Bay. I'm looking for places that others think are a good ride plus might want to get together for a group ride. Any of the Finger lakes would be good. Any clubs in the area?

I will keep you in mind this summer, we keep our pontoon boat on the Seneca River just outside of Weedsport and travel to Cross Lake for most of our outings. It's about a twenty minute ride on the SeaDoo, but about forty-five minutes for the floating dock. Normally we will have about four machines, grand-children, food, and beer. There are a couple of great spots on Cross Lake, the old "African Queen" shipwreck and Cross Lake Marina that are great places to ride. We keep our "big boat" at Eagles Landing, nice place, but a little on the redneck side. I'm not sure of your age bracket, but my youngest son is 26 and loves to ride WOT and then let Dad fix his mistakes!

gonna have alot more than 4 machines, sis took a old pontoon boat and made a house boat,
heck, we even gotta ski we ride in the winter, soon as weather breaks, we all will be up there,
