well, before I burn this thing. I just replaced all my fuel lines and cleaned the filters in the carbs. Now when It's running I can rev it and it will hold its rpm's for about 30 secs or even rev higher then it will go back down to an idle. I can see my idle stop and the butterflies are closing all the way. Please help

well, i had something that is sounding pretty similar. I had the "run away ski syndrome" and from doing some research on this site and GH. It probably coming from you carburetors being set to lean either your idle screw is set to high, you can try opening your low speed screw about 1/4 turns. Or there is an air leak somewhere else in the system so the ski is continuing to get air even after you let off the throttle. At least thats my guess but snipe probably has some better ideas as to your problem. This was the advice that was given to me so you may want to give it a shot?

:agree:...gixxer, might not be bad idea, if you dont have one already, is to, sign up for prem member for a month, download your manual, and have all the specs for your ski, available...settings, adjustments, how to...etc.

well, it seemed to fix the reving prob itself but im pretty sure the carbs are adjusted wrong. When I rode it today it did fine except for when held wide open it seems to be fouling plugs. I can let off the gas and it starts running right again. So, Im going to adjust them and see if that fix's my prob. does anyone know the proper adjustment for mikuni 951 carbs? Thanks

The Low Speed adjustment should be set at 1 1/2 turns out. It has a pin through the adjuster. The High Speed adjustment has a plastic cap on it. It should be adjusted to "0". The plastic cap allows it to only be adjusted 1/4 turn but it should be set to "0".
The jet boat should idle at 3000 rpm's out of the water and 1500 rpm's in the water under load. Use the idle adjustment screw, to adjust both carbs. Do not use the low speed screws to adjust the idle. Be sure both carbs are adjusted in sync and the oil injector cable is in sync with the carbs too.

I hope this helps.
