Rev limit

Hi all What is the limit in RPM that is safe on a new stock GTI that is now broke in. I mean can I run it at WOT for a minute or two. I have had it at WOT for no more than 5 seconds after I put 8 hrs on it and it seamed to want to go faster{52 mph} with my GPS. I thought top speed was only 45 MPH. Thanks

Rev Limiter!

You have a rev limiter that won't let you go over the recommended rpm's, so if your broke in, WOT shouldn't be a problem. My limiter is set at 7200 rpm's. I'm not sure about yours, I'd have to look it up.
