Hey guys im about to replace the engine in my 95 xp with the 720 engine...my question is since the motor is complegte already and all i have to do is throw my old carbs and intake and exhaust on can i use my old gaskets as long as they are not bad /ripped ??? I have done it before and never had a problem BUT i have never worked with a 717 and dont know how tempermental they are.. i caled my local shop and the only LOGICAL way to go and by that i mean cheap ..is to buy a complete engine gasket kit and its 100 bucks and i wont use half of them so i see it as pointless... what do ou think

Sbt sells an engine install gasket set for their rebuilds that comes with carb and exhaust gaskets for putting one of their rebuilds in

If not brittle or worn go for it.

LMK how the motor goes. It looks like 99spxxx hooked you up.

I got two from him

Sbt great price on gaskets.

exhaust gasket has to be done, done others you can get away with, but in the end always better to replace them.

he definetly hooked me up and ill always be thankful for that.....i really want to go out and go wave jumping with those two they look like my kinda thrill seekers i watched their youtube video and it looks like exactly what i like to do...as far as the gaskets gpo thanks for responding guys im prolly gonna just get some from sbt dont wanna see a good engine go bad over a few gaskets... BTW anybody who bought an engine from him ...ho long did it take for you to get it

I would not reuse any intake gaskets and make sure you pressure test that new engine before you put it back into the ski.

im thinking that jess (99spxxx) who i got it from would have already pressure tested it before he sold it to me

Probably w/in a week.
Isn't it drop in ready?
What gaskets are you wanting to replace?

im not exactly sure if its ready or not it hard to get ahold of him LOL he is busy... im saying that i will prolly need the carb gaskets since he is not sending me any gaskets that i know of or does he send them with the engine ....IDK did you get all that with yours

If its like the one he listed on other site it comes 90% RTR

I changed over to a single intake vs dual so I needed that gasket. Still had good seal around intake and rv covers.
Mine came with exhaust mani on so I just needed top gasket.

Then was put in starter and I was done.

I just looked at his FS thread.
If you got the first one he had then there is no exhaust mani on it cuz he shows piston sleeve.

The 2nd was still in ski.

PM and ask him if any extra goodies are coming along.
I had gotten it with single intake vs dual in my deal....

Can't stand the idea of running and dealing with two carbs................

Love the 717 FTW !!!!!!

dont use any of the old gaskets , they might last a few hours and then youll be stuck on the whater with a leaking exaust gasket like one of the guys i know that the same thing used his old ones and know he has do the labor put new ones on , buy new ones
