hello reader's, happy memorial day to you... i am replacing ALL of my trusty grey fuel lines tomorrow and figured while im in there better do the few oil lines too they dont look so great... my question is do i need to prime them, and how? coffee cup spoon of premix in the carbs trick? or will they prime on their own?

The fuel line will refill quick on their own. But a shot of pre-mix fuel in the carb will do it faster.

The oil lines MUST be bled !

Once you change them, there is a screw in the face of the injection pump. (where the incoming hose is) Remove it, to let the oil flow to the pump. Then, start the ski, and let it idle, and while doing so... hold the pump arm to "Full." You will see the oil pump up the little lines, into the manifold.

Once that's done... go ride, and have a good time.

thank's DOC, I am ready to bleed and was lookin at the front, where the oil pump is... are you talking about the gold "screw"; hex head, looks like the tip of an allen wrench? and do i remove it completely or just loosen it?

It's the little hex bolt, directly in-line with the incoming oil hose. You will remove it to let the oil flow.

i only bought the "tiny" lines that run from pump and inject oil into fuel mix they were 1/8" id i believe.... the others were still in good shape except for the ends and had a lil extra slack so i just took em off and cut the ends off and replacde with new hose clamps...and you can go to lowe's and get the tubing they do have some cool clear braided stuff that will support 2 stroke oil!

oh yea for the lil stuff, i spent a half a day driving ALL around, and i mean ALL around save yourself the grief and head to your local lawn mower supply. thats where i found it !

Thanks for the info! Those are the lines I was wondering about. They look like they were originally painted but are flaking now. What type of clamps did you use?

yup, thats why i replaced mine was worried about one breakinuse the little new line it will be tight, then some small 4'' zip ties just to make sure there is no leaking! pull em tight and cut the extra off so they dont interfere with the pump arm or anything else!

OK... you didn't say what lines, and I assumed all of them. If you only changed the small lines, start the engine, and as it idles, hold the pump arm to full. They will just push the air out. If the pump is working properly, you will see the oil pulse up the lines about every second, and it should only take 8 to 10 seconds of idling to purge the injection lines. If it takes you more than 10 seconds of idleing... don't burn up your engine. Hook it to a hose, and don't rev the engine until you get oil into it.

I just use a small zip-tie to hold the little hoses on with. The factory crimp clamps are a pain in the butt... and you need a special tool to properly crimp them.

I was working on cleaning my carbs and noticed one of the little OIL Injector Lines is cracked. I am talking about the tiny lines to the injector needles not the big main feed lines from the resevoir.

I also notice oil is kinda everywhere in the engine compartment...
So...
1-What are the inside diameters of the both the smaller and larger lines
2-Where can I buy some new oil lines, both the larger and the smaller lines at?
3-Does it have to be any kind of special material or will just any clear tubing work???

Also on the smaller lines, can I just remove the clamps and replace the tube, leaving the banjo fitting and the injector in place and just use a zip tie on it to secure new line???

dude i bought the tiny new hose at a lawnmower and go-cart repair shop...ONLY place in town that had it...for the bigger stuff Lowe's or NAPA... you need to get some hose that will support oil. i dont know the diameter on your ski, just clip off a small piece and take it with you... how ever i believe for the small injection line i got 1/8" i.d. and it fit snug over the fittings... i threw the sea-doo clamps in my neighbors yard and used some 4" zip ties... worked like a champ....
