Removing the oem filter is a bit of a pain..no doubt. But it is relatively clean. Dunno how removing that twist on...upside down is gonna be cleaner. For as often as I have to swap filters...once a year...I can go w/o.

Yea that looks like a waste of money. The factory filter is plenty easy to remove that it makes me not want to spend $175 for a kit that will most likely make a mess when I go to change the filter.

it isn't really relocating it. it is still pretty much in the same spot but a little easier to remove since you just unscrew it. I think they are trying say that the stock filter doesn't work as well as that Fram but in the world of high quality oil filters Fram is a piece of junk so I doubt that it is better than the stock filter.

also, and more importantly, the seadoo oil system is very sensitive to oil pressure and there is a bypass around the oil filter if too much resistance is at the filter. I'm guessing the new smaller filter will have more resistance due to smaller size and less pleated area which may cause the bypass to partially open which is like having no filter.
