Hello Everyone,
I am finally getting around to going through each of the pumps on my machines, but my 96 XP is the odd one of my 3.
As I have seen before in previous posts in taking the pump off, there is really no valid reason to have the pump glued or drenched with silicone and stuck to the shoe or hull right? I had a heck of a time getting it off because of this.
I am just wanting to cover all my bases before I get this thing back together, I have purchased a new neoprene seal that appears to go between the shoe and the pump. Do I need to dab a little sealant around the bailer tubes to prevent any water from getting in there? I dont see anything in the manual or on the part finder for sealing that up.
And the neoprene seal only looks to be needed for the older pump styles like my 96 right? I dont see the part finder calling for it on my 97 GSX and GTX. Thanks for any help.
