Rear step not springing back up

Hi I have the rear boarding step which is only a few months old. It has been working fine up until now. The springs in the step now appear to be too weak to spring the step back up.
I'm about 2.5 hours drive from the dealer and the step was bought and fitted by myself as a spare part.
Anyone had similar issues?

Lubricate the joints VERY well. Maybe there is corrosion starting and restricting the step from pivoting up.

mine does that from time to time lube it like coastie said should be fine
