Rear hatch

Either my 210 ass is heavier than your 210 ass or it was weak from the start. I seem to have a crack in the hatch and it's a bit spongy. I was wondering what would happen if I sprayed a bunch of that expanding foam insulation into it. It may help some with engine noise as well. What do you think?

Are you talking about just the little rope hatch door, or the entire back engine hatch?

I walk on the engine hatch all the time, but I try to keep off the little rope locker door. Mostly because my little plastic hinges were worn and nearly broken up until last week when i replaced them.

Nope its the engine hatch itself. It seems like the weak spot is on the port side. I think the whole hatch is hollow. I could spray the foam in from the rope locker door.

I stand on mine all the time 215, but I only stand directly in the center. I don't want to chance anything.

I was 220, now 195, never had any concerns with the strength of the door, and we are on it all the time. Usually both of us at the same time.

I have taken it of (when swapping engines) and it is VERY thick fiberglass, and I feel no concerns with it's strength.

I am thinking you got one that just wasn't made as strong...
