Rave valves

Was just wondering whats the difference between a slotted rave valve blade versus a non slotted blade ?

The slots, LOL.

The slotted were newer and were done to stop them from sticking and not opening.

Some 787's will run perfectly with the non-slotted and some have to have the slotted to work correctly. It has never been determined what actually causes this and is just one of those mysteries in the machine.
