A guy dropped off his ski to be winterized. He said its just not running right. After taking a look it was obvious what the problem was  To make matters worse, I removed the pump cone and found it filled with saltwater ( ski was purchased from the gulf area ) and the bearings were rusted, shaft was shot. Looking for a replacement pump now.

wow thats one of the worst ones I have seen. Is that actually a melted wear ring? It must of run out of the water for a while to get that hot.

yea that wear ring is melted. I have never seen one that bad. Don't know the history on the ski but the new owner said he just purchased it a month ago and rode it once. If I had to guess, he probably sucked up some sticks and kept running it, then ran it on the trailer for some time for it to melt that bad.
