Ok guys, I apoligize if this is in the wrong section...
The skinny, I have a 96 SeaDoo XP 800 (787) I was riding on saturday, lost all thrust and steering, come to find out my pump cone came out. I pulled to shore, looked inside and noticed several things im worried about
1. metal Chunks/shavings that looks to be of a bearing that rests on the tail of the shaft just about to the base of the cone. Which i'm assuming was due to taking on water in place of Lube.
2. Alot of water came out when I pulled the cone off.
3. The 3 bolts where the cone is attached to the base (housing?) has play in it. (i attached the bolts back & pulled back and forth and noticed it had about 0.25" of play)
I'm quite mechanically inclined, and I'm up for the project, however, I'm new to PWC & this type of driveline. My question to you is; Is there anything I may be over looking other than replacing the Cone, Screws, bearing, thrust washer etc etc... and also is there a reason that there was slight play in the 3 cone mounting holes. Any help is needed. Thanks again...
