Had to pull the oil tank after some genius thought it was the gas tank. After I put the oil tank in it was a nightmare reconnecting the oil line and a lot was spilled lol. Anyway when I start it it's reading oil low. Is this normal? I'm sure there's some sort of air in the line from the actual oil tank nipple fitting to whatever line it connects to. I installed a brand new oil tank last year so I'm sure I had the same issue but it was during the fall and I never really ran it other than on a trailer so maybe it had time to gravity feed? But isn't the sensor telling me this from the amount in the actual tank? I probably have less than a gallon in the tank

Correction, now that I'm searching other threads I do remember cracking the bleeder nut when I installed the new tank. I also remember saying what a nightmare it would be to try and reach the bleeder nut if the carbs and airbox were installed....

So I already rode it around for about 45 minutes and nothing happened. Do the carbs have to be pulled to get at the bleeder bolt? Would it have blown up by now?
Maybe I should just add some oil into the gas tank and run it....might smoke until that gas is used up but the oil lines would be good to go and I wouldn't blow it up.

It definitely would not hurt to run premix for a tank full. Then run while holding oil pump lever fully open until all bubbles are no longer present in the small oil lines.
For your low oil reading, check and make sure the wire going to the sensor in the tank got reconnected good.

the low oil light really won't reflect if oil is being sent through the pump, but rather just a sensor telling you that it thinks the tank is low. pull the connector, clean and reconnect.
Worst case, you can replace the sensor itself, they are usually like $10 shipped at the most, really cheap.

There's probably 10 gallons or so of gas in the tank. How much oil should I add to it? Also I heard you shouldn't mix oils but what are you supposed to do if you're on the water and have to buy whatever the marina has? Because I had seadoo fully synthetic but had to dump in 3 quarts of whatever brand they had that was for 2 stroke pwc and it was still fully synthetic

If you always top off the oil tank after each outing you will probably never run into that situation. But the rule of never mixing is in the oil injection system. If you have to get some different brand at the marine (Still synthetic I hope) premix proper amount with gas.
40:1 mixture is 3.2 ozs to 1 gallon of gas. That would be 32 ounces for 10 gallons. I believe that is one quart.

I added the 3 quarts of fully synthetic pwc oil from the marina into my tank of seadoo fully synthetic oil. I also put some premix in the gas tank and rode it all day. Nothing broke. Everything ran great and I almost burned the entire tank of fuel. Well maybe 2/3. Not sure what all the fuss is about with combining oils when they're both fully synthetic and designed for pwc.
That doesn't even make sense. So you're saying rather than put a few quarts of a different brand into the oil tank that I should let the tank run dry and just premix it into the gas??? No thanks.
If you mixed two different brands of oil especially from the marina there is a good chance it will gel in the tank and oil filter starving the engine of oil. Typically marinas carry TCW oil because it is the most common and will usually gel when mixed with the correct API-TC oil in Seadoo's.

It makes perfect sense as long as you do it correctly. Depending on which engine you have you may have to pinch a hose (know which one) to keep from running the rotary valve dry. Of course you will have to bleed the system once you have new oil. But that's easier than purging, cleaning, changing filter and bleeding your oil system after finding out your oil has thickened or jelled due to mixing brands. Not to mention possible engine damage.
Of course there is always the option of doing neither and opting to get towed. But again if you do that, know which water hose to pinch. Otherwise you will have an engine full of water if you're towed over a couple mph.
But I guess I withdraw this suggestion, since this situation has already occurred and we might be talking about a future situation. I think I'll stick with my first option in my original reply. That is always top the oil tank off after each outing and your not likely to end up in the same situation again. Seriously, a tank full will last multiple tanks of fuel unless you ride full throttle all the time.

If you read my initial post, I added the 3 quarts not because I dont top off as needed but because I had to drain the tank completely and when I took it out it was reading low oil because After draining the tank I was only able to put in what I had left at my house. It was probably a gallon and then that leaked all over the place so I was left with maybe a half gallon in it. There is no close seadoo dealer up here and I will ride this 1 week a year and of that maybe 3 days. Thank you for your suggestion.
