Hello all, any help on my issue is greatly appreciated.
1996 Challenger with the 787. Was running fair before I rebuilt the carbs today. It would Idle fine, was choppy in acceleration to WOT but topped out well.
WOT was only up to 5500 RPM, but oddly would go to 6000RPM if in a right turn (Obviously low RPM, and the increase in the right turn has me baffled).
Today I rebuilt the carbs with mikuni genuine rebuild kits.
Now, it seems to run fine on the trailer, but only can get up to about 2,000 RPM in the water. While tinkering with it I was able to nurse it up to 5,500 RPM once, but overall, the engine bogs and dies past 2k. I spent some time trying to adjust the LSA's, but still the same issue.
I will get a compression reading on the cylinders in the morning, but before this rebuild the boat ran ok.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Back story,
Boat sat for 2 years.
Replaced gas, all fuel lines, plugs, cleaned and rebuilt the raves. Was running ok after these. Had it out 3 times and about two tanks full of fuel before the carb rebuild.
Thanks again for reading.
