Also I'm just wondering
about jetting in carbs... The boat came from vacouver and I'm in whitehorse Yukon Canada which is a big difference in elevation so that could be a part of the problem
also right?

About 2200 feet above sea level and it has jets that were being used at sea level.... So I should drop it down at least 2 jet sizes?

First yuo want to look into the nuetral dizmo, it keeps the boat from driving away from the dock with excess speed as people bring in coolers and fishing stuff so easy to open the throttle, once you go over the other stuff and get the pumps reworked then you can do some plug reading with the actual load, mark the oil tank and be sure it is drinking to each motor, use premix weedeater gas until you know all is well with oiling, doing this stuff now gives you a lot of summer fun.

okay well im gonna do the jetting and clean the carbs then once the new impellors and everything is all back together il give it a try and see how it goes! because i just dont see how it was running so perfect for 2 hours then after a 20 minute break its totally screwed! it doesnt seem right...

also if i have the whole jet assembly off the boat can i still fire up the engines? and when the shafts are left sticking out should i be able to pull them out of the flywheel spline....becuase on one i can and the other i cant...... :S

Better to be rich than lean at this stage. 2200 ft is not alot. I would go 1 jet size at a time. I would only do one right now till you can run it good and then check your plugs and piston wash. I dont think jetting has anything to do with your problem though. However it is a good place to start by making sure all the jets and ports are clean.

I know 2-smokes pretty well, but the jet and shaft stuff, I am a newbie to, sorry.

alrighty well tommorow im gonna pull the carbs off and clean them out along with every fuel line and all the filters and fuel pump cause i cant seem to think of anything other then fuel problems to make it do what its doing,,, anyone know about the shaft question?!

Electrical issues will definitely cause what your describing. don't count that out. Check any and all wiring you can get your hands on. Also make sure that one of your spark plug boots hasn't disconnected from the wire. I had that happen once and the machine ran like crud.

no need to rejet it, that elevation wont effect it.

See if theres a clamp around the dust boot off the pto, thats still clamped. You can fire them up, without pump on, but wouldnt have driveshaft in/on motor, it'll bang around and possibly ruin the thru-hull insert along with other things...
