pop off presure

i cannot get my carb to pressurize to pop off the needle on either of my carbs with the pump. i put wd40 around the needle to see if it was leaking that bad and have the proper lines blocked off. lt wont even pump up if l blow compressed air in it then it will pop off. l replaced on the opposite side the o ring gasket on the filter side and still nothing. l hooked the pump to a set of older carbs without the accelerator pumps on them and the pump works fine. these are on a 97 GSX with accelerator pumps. l even folded the hose and pumped it and the pump works and holds pressure so the pump is fine. l also noticed only has one high speed screw. is there some sort of internal bypass on these?

The 1997 GSX doesn't use accelerator pumps. Is this a 1997.5 GSX Limited?

The accelerator pumps have nothing to do with pop off. Your needle and seats must be leaking if they won't build pressure.

must be its red and white and l have 3 of them and they all have accelerator pumps Even the 97 xp l have has accelerator pumps. im going to read the article you posted about rebuilding them looks very informative.

The 1997 GSX doesn't have them from the factory. I have 2 of them. The 1997 XP does though.
