Hi i went out on weekend and ski rolled over lanyard did not pull out straight away so was running up side down for about 15 seconds. rolled it back over. there was plenty of water in bay. stupidly i tryed to start it to get to shore. it idled rough for about 30 seconds at about 600 rpm then just stopped. got it towed back to boat ramp. with intake hose blocked off with after market tab that is on it. pulled plugges cranked over to get water out, poored a little 2 stroke oil on pistons to lubricate. and took air intake pipe off and dried. put all back together. and now it still is running rough. its smokey from exaust and smells like it is over fuelling.

anyone have any suggestions before i call the mechanic and he charges me a fortune to do something i could have done.

thanx

You definitely should check the oil. Most likely water got into it. Change it multiple times to get all the water out.

You may have done some damage though by starting it with the plugs in.

If water got into the crank oil... it will turn milky.

If it's still "Oil" colored... I would pull electrical plugs, (from sensors, MPEM, ect) and make sure they are dry. Also... putting some fresh sparkplugs in will help.

My question is... why didn't the lanyard come off?? Were you not wearing it?
