Please help. Plate fell off while removing the carb and valve cover?

well I was taking the carb and valve cover off and a plate fell off. I am worried that it has something or every thing to do with timing. Any help would be great?

Yep it has everything to do with timing you need to find a manual or instructions on timing it to put it back on. Been too long since I timed one, I'd have to refer to the manual to time it myself, maybe someone on here that mechanics everyday can tell you how it goes back on. I always just put number one cylinder on top dead center and scrib a mark, or there may be a mark allready on the block that shows where to put the plate back on.
