Planing stages of stereo upgrade.

Ok so now I finally have the old girl running right it is time to upgrade tha sound system. I dont want anything to serious. Just a new HU with usb and ipod control, also a seperate control pannel for the HU & 2 new sets of speakers. Was thinking about an amp but I will try this and see how it goes first. How ever I am having trouble finding a decent HU that fits my requirements. So does anyone know of a decent unit?? Was looking at the Alpine IDA-X100M. However not sure if it has a seperate control pannel. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers all!!!
 
What do you mean by separate control panel? Do you want the controls for the radio to be separate from the actual head unit..or just a head unit that can have a remote mounted?

I have seen a unit where the entire thing mounted in a storage compartment and the control panel was just a small panel that needed mounted anywhere you choose and then you run a wire to it. There are lots of radios that have the ability to add a wired remote you can place anywhere.
 
Yeah just a control pannel I can mount else where. I am also now really looking at the Clarion m309. Looks to have everything I want plus can get the mw1 I think it is controler for it. Now just need approval from the minister for war and finane to buy it:reddevil:
 
The 309 is a great radio and you can get it for like 135 if you dont mind refurbished. If i have problems with mine, that is my plan to switch to.
 
Yeah I found one on ebay for 199 plus 20 for delivery. Think that is the unit I will use. Still playin around with ipod dock or cable and placement. Plus speaker location and size. It is a speedster 150 so has two 6" between the seats which I will just upgrade but want to fit 2 more speakers somewhere. Maybe up the front some where.

Dude there must be somethng wrong with my comp. I cant see any pics in nearly any thread. So frustrating read all the info but cant see the pics!!!!!
 
I dont know man it is a work computer. I am on night shift here in Oz. So they probably have some sort of protection that wont allow me to look at them. Still extremelly frustrating!!
 
Right so decided to use the M309 on order. Now just some speakers and where to put them. Does any one know how hard it is to run wires across the front of the 150? Want to mount some speakers up the front in the walkway. Not sure on size yet but think 6" is big enough.
 
These boats are really easy to run wires in. Just get a wire fish tape like electricians use. I bought one at home depot for like 20 bucks.
 
Copy that. I will have a look over here and see what I can find. Think Bunnings will have something similar. Cheers.
