Pipe wrench tooth marks in impeller drive shaft...

Hi all,

Got a dumb question regarding pulling the impeller as I believe I need to replace it. Instead of purchasing the $15.00 tool to do this I put the jet pump in a vice and, using the drive shaft as my removal tool, put a pipe wrench on it and turned it until I broke the impeller free from the shaft. In the process however I left some tooth marks on about the middle of the shaft from the pipe wrench. Will this affect the performance of the craft and would it be worth while to try to sand them out using some emery cloth?

Thanks!

not as long as you sand them flat....FYI next time spend the 15 bucks and do it right ...dont use the shaft if you messs the shaft up that $15 tool is lookin like a good idea!!

What will happen if they are not? Just out of curiosity? Will there be vibration in the shaft and cause it not to spin correctly or...

Thanks..
