Hi all
Just bought a 2008 Wake 155 and went for its first ride for half hour or so. When driving straight the ski seemed to "list" a bit to one side and moving the handle bars the other way shifted the list to the other side. Nothing too serious but kind of annoying. Its like you want to shift your weight on the seat to correct. After I pulled it out of the water I stopped at the local dealer and without me even mentioning the problem when he saw the model I had just bought he said that they modify the OPAS wings by installing a metal spacer to hold them up in the air so that the wings don't hang below the hull line. The thinking is if that if they don't lift perfectly even when at mid range speeds more drag will be created on the lower side causing the ski to sag on that side. I realize that this will reduce the effectiveness of the OPAS system slightly. Any body else ever heard of this mod ?? It makes sense in theory. Also might explain why BRP stopped making the OPAS system. So I bought two S/s bushings 5/8" ID x 1 3/4 inches long and (4) 5/8" machine washers and installed them in about 15 minutes. Now just waiting for the weather to warm back up to test it.
Thanks
