OOPS! Water on-Engine Off

So while running my 2005 GTX with a hose running through my son who was pretending to be riding it pulled the key out leaving the water on and the engine off. I was able to get the water turned off in about 3-5 seconds. After this I was able to start after a coulple turns, then ran if for a bit and was able to start it up everytime after that with seemingly no problems. Should I be ok now? Also notices maintenance light is on...not sure if it was related. I just got done changing the plugs and oil.

your alright, it fired up, so thats a good sign.

I did that once a few months ago on my 08 GTI and had no problem at all.

The water would have to be left on for about 30 seconds or more before it might cause a problem. You got to it in plenty of time. If the "MAINT" only comes on when you first start the ski then it's just a reminder to change oil, etc.
