Old 787 barrel with a wider rave valve slot?

The valves don’t fit perfectly tight in the slot. There’s room for them to move and expand.

Tolerance yes, but this slot is wide and the lower flange surface makes the blade stick into the bore, which makes me think it took a different blade.

It's a race mod. 951 raves were used in some but they would normally require an indention in the surface. Those may have had Miller brand RAVE valves. Are there any #'s stamped in the cylinders? Lets see a pic underneath looking up the cylinder.

No extra numbers on the barrel, view of the rave valve slot from inside the barrel attached.IMG-9510.jpgIMG-9515.jpg

I suspect that some porting was done as well as the wide RAVE valves. The guy definitely was not afraid to remove some material. I can't tell from the pic though I'd need to see the bottom of the cylinder. I do not know what kind of valve he had fit in there but if you can find them the cylinders will likely perform real well.

On the 951 rave you have to cut into the center of the slot to allow the valve to drop down far enough and then cut the shaft shorter and thread it. That's the way I've seen them anyway.

Def 951 raves in those cylinders. Can you measure us the total height of the cylinder it self. I am thinking it might be a taller cylinder than the oem... Mat can you as well measure a stock one in order to compare them :)
