Hey guys, I recently bought a 95 xp. Currently doing the fuel overhaul as well as planning to change the small oil lines and filter. My original plan was drain the oil tank and put fresh mineral oil from brp in it, but when I checked the current oil it is the golden / brownish colour so that tells me the previous owner probably had the correct oil in there? So should I even bother draining that? Maybe I can siphon a little and mix it with the stuff I have to see how it reacts over a day or two?
My next question is about the fuel tank .. so with the 95 xp, it has that bad fuel tank where the filler neck is susceptible to cracking. I am currently in the break of battle with brp and my local dealer to try and get a new tank here in 2025 lol. Apparently they have one left and some dealer and trying to see what they can do for me. But if they can’t .. I’m scared to even attempt to even remove the tank as it may crack in the process of removing the filler hose ect. I was going to clean the tank as I’m in the middle of doing the whole fuel system overhaul but perhaps I should just leave it and siphon the old fuel out…
